‘Traffic lights for peace’ is a really important concept.

Global warming due to human activity threatens the balance of the ecosystems on our planet.

We are hurtling through space, on this planet of ours. There is no escape pod! We have to keep our little spacecraft habitable for our survival. It’s as simple as that!

 At the present time, our over-indulgence in the comforts that fossil fuel has brought us is threatening the whole ecosystem. It is because of our greed that we are facing this catastrophic scenario in the future, of a planet that becomes hostile to life as we know it.

If we carry on the same path we are doomed. We will be like lemmings charging towards the cliff edge. Humanity is at a crossroads. Now is the moment. We need to stop, think and change direction.

At this, humanity’s crossroads, there is a signal, a sign with a message. The instruction of that sign, just like at highways crossings, we ignore at our peril.

‘Traffic lights for peace’ is different to all the organisations and NGO’s already out there and functioning.

It is NOT there to replace them. Far from it, it is there to encourage and support them and even to actively boost their importance and affect on our everyday lives, so that they become MORE effective.

‘Traffic lights for peace’ must be seen as a catalyst for the necessary changes we need to survive.

Presently the NGO’s and environmental organisations along with their related and associated groups, are acting responsibly in encouraging action from concerned individuals.

Unfortunately, this is too little, too late, UNLESS there is a massive boost to the general awareness and urgency of the situation amongst the general population of the nations of the world.

This is where ‘Traffic lights for peace’ comes in.  ONLY by a worldwide response can the climate changes we are responsible for be corrected.

‘Traffic lights for peace’ is a very simple participatory movement, which will bring awareness to the millions around the globe. Global warming due to human activity is just that, global and due to us! To tackle this problem we have to have a very simple means to connect with people throughout the globe.

Symbolism and message need to be simple and universal in nature. The message must be clear and give us an indication as to the way forward. That will mean changes to our lifestyles. Where fossil fuels are concerned, the greatest changes will be where the greatest use is. There is no getting round that. To this end, the symbolism and message of the lights is particularly apt, because of the link to the petroleum industry; it being one of the major contributors to CO2 emissions.
