On the face of it a traffic light protest seems a strange one.

  • No centralised mass numbers.
  • No angry crowd.
  • No rousing speeches.
  • No clashes with restraining police cordons.

They thought the same about Mahatma Ghandi's protest in India all those years ago.

How could a small, peaceful demonstration challenge a powerful force, that thrives on fear, apathy and ignorance?
The reason is because the goodness shines through. The humility of the situation touches all of us – all of us that care.

The PURPOSE of this protest is to obtain change for the way we run this world and treat this world for the benefit of all, by peaceful non-aggressive means.

That means we need a change in character from Mr Bush and Mr Blair to men who are no longer willing to kill for political objectives, or if they won't change, for them to be peacefully removed by democratic means.
Mr Bush and Mr Blair either need to change to someone like Nelson Mandela from using violent means to peaceful means to achieve good, or go by the ballot box or resignation. We ALL make mistakes. Bush and Blair need to start by having the courage to admit theirs over Iraq.
Blair has reportedly stated about Iraq that with hindsight he would do the same again. That's worrying for every peace loving person on this planet.

As they stand at the moment, Mr Bush and Mr Blair are men of violence, willing to kill to achieve their political aims.
This protest is non-political, for it purely seeks peace and care for the planet by non-aggressive means.

The image that will defeat Messrs. Bush and Blair is not the angry demonstrator shouting out abuse, but the senior citizen or mother and young child struggling to the lights to tie a ribbon. The needy and defenceless of our society we should be caring for, theirs is the more powerful message.

We have this chance to do something; something so simple. One minute of your life to make them think again. We are the majority, the silent majority; we have to take this opportunity to discover our voice!
