Trafficlights4peace calls on all people everywhere to 'Shout' for peace in a 'Visable Voice'. You may tie a ribbon on a traffic light to call for an end to war, to the carnage which is South Lebanon. Call for peace in a lasting, visable way. As an individual act of remembrance it is not against the law.

Ribbons represent colorful lives lost, traffic lights represent the message:

These ribbons provide the means for citizens to truly reflect their call for peace and deny Blair's misrepresentation. A peaceful revolution could be in the air, fluttering at the traffic lights. Tell your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. Peace IS in the air, if we make this simple gesture. DO IT please. Set the ultimate peaceful revolution in motion; ribbons + traffic lights is all it takes and tell the media...

New Protest - The Beacon has Started...
Let it spread its message throughout the land and beyond.

To the quiet majority of people, who have a concern for peace, if you want symbolic direct action against the war then start setting up beacon traffic lights throughout the country. It only takes 100 coloured ribbons (rolls are relatively cheap in card shops) and one strategic (e.g. town centre) traffic light. They can crop up over night anywhere, throughout the country! A peaceful, non-damaging act of defiance to war that we can all do and will anger the warmongers intensely.
Because traffic lights are a permanent feature of our petrol driven world, these beacons of defiance and peace can spread and there is nothing they can do to stop them.
The message STOP WAR (red) CHANGE TO (amber) A GREEN PLANET (green) will shine throughout the land and light our way to the moment when we reject war and concentrate on what is really important, the environment and care of our planet and its inhabitants.
The traffic light beacon of peace doesn’t burn and doesn’t damage. We can all do it.
All people seeking an harmonious future for humanity are invited to Cirencester where the beacons begin, to tie the symbolic (beacon flame) ribbons. If you can’t make it to Cirencester, then arrange for a traffic light locally to become a peace beacon. All it takes is a couple of active members, ‘armed’ only with ribbons. DO IT. Let’s really get up autocratic Blair’s nose and have them cropping up everywhere and something he just simply cannot stop, not even with his human-right denying anti-freedom Laws.

As violence erupts in the Muslim world, will Bush and Blair cynically use it as an excuse to further their evil intentions. Most of us realise Iraqi oil will forevermore be US oil. With the 100th British serviceman losing his life in the conflict, we reflect with heartfelt sympathy, the intolerable loses these two leaders have perpertrated. A new protest against what these two have done and 'Beacon for Peace' is conceived and initiated this week. See our protest, press and event pages.

Beacons of Peace.

This week the BBC is to air the episode of ‘The Virgin Queen’ when beacons are lit in the reign of Elizabeth I, to warn of the Armada’s approach and also to inform of its passing and defeat.
In our decimalised world, on Friday 10th February, in the reign of Elizabeth II, in the old Roman town Corinium (modern Cirencester), where Centurions once stood, which is the nearest major market town to the home of recently enrolled officers Princes William and Harry, a beacon for peace and against what Messrs. Bush and Blair have perpetrated, will be revealed.
The beacon taking the form of a traffic light festooned with 100 coloured fluttering ribbons. These represent the colourful vibrant lives lost who will no longer feel the breeze on their faces, both of the 100 British Servicemen and the estimated 100,000 Iraqi citizens slayed in the name of two leaders, whose actions the majority of the world’s population see as wrong.

Why a traffic light?
It is a noticeable, strategically situated, universal symbol, whose light shines out, constantly changing as a flame and with a message: (red) STOP WAR (amber) CHANGE TO (green) A GREEN PLANET.
This is a beacon of defiance to warmongers Bush and Blair. This is a symbol of peace and hope, to change from their ways to one where the waste of war is ended and action urgently undertaken to repair our planet’s environment.

This beacon, non-damaging, non-violent, is reproducable throughout the land, throughout the world even, since they are globally distributed. Simple to do (ribbons are readily available at card and party shops everywhere), so visible as a beacon should be, always shining its message, repeatable wherever people of peace reside. Our chance for the people of the world to speak out against the Bush and Blair era of violence. A beacon of hope.

New Protest - for week commencing 3rd December 2005.
Climate Change. Unless we act now we will not have a future.
Visit our stall in Lincoln's Inn Fields at the start of the march.

Join the traffic light protest. During the week of the Montreal conference in early December 2005 to review the Kyoto agreement, we suggest that green and white ribbons be tied to traffic light posts wherever you see one, to convey a message to Governments to respond positively by upholding those agreements to reduce CO2 output and ultimately to reduce levels sufficiently rapidly to avoid climatic calamity.

Adorned traffic lights with their fluttering ribbons will act like a poster on every street corner, showing that the people of that area care and act as a visible voice to the Government.
Time is running out.

Leaders such as Bush and Blair must stop ‘pussy footing’ about and take action NOW!
