Welcome to the new and unique concept in anti-war & pro-environment protesting and demonstrations.

Mass demonstrations are now a way of life for many people now. Their effectiveness varies.
One constraint in that effectiveness is the ability of the target of the objection to claim that the protestors are a minority or a radical extreme of opinion. If that protest can be shown to be across the board, of all walks of life and to represent the clear majority, then the target of the protest have a problem.

Why this is different.
There are many reasons that people who object to war or environmental harm do not make it to a protest march. A big commitment physically and financially as well as socially is required to participate. What if a means was developed that enabled everyone who wishes to, the simple opportunity to protest and leave their mark.
THAT MEANS HAS NOW ARRIVED!

Why this is effective.
Here is a method of protest that requires little time, minimal resources and yet gives a clear indication of the objection felt. At last a protest vehicle that enables an otherwise silent majority to discover their voice!

How is this achieved?
Traffic lights are a part of our everyday life in our petrol driven world.
We see them daily.
Most of us are fairly close to one at any given time or place.
Traffic lights are a symbol that we observe and respond to with an action.
If that symbol becomes synonymous with the call to (red light) STOP WAR and (amber light) CHANGE TO a (green light) GREEN PLANET, then we can utilise that association BOTH for protest AND to give a gentle reminder to us each time we see the lights, to strive for peace and a greener, more just world.
THE TRAFFIC LIGHT PROTEST IS BORN!

There is no need for banners, no need for chanting, no marching,
no civil disobedience from frustration, no big distance to travel, no large loss of time, no disruption of family life, no resources used up, no extensive organisation required,
no tainting participants as extremists and no reason not to do it, if you agree with the principles expressed above and as symbolised by the lights.

EVERYONE CAN WALK TO THEIR NEAREST TRAFFIC LIGHT AND LEAVE A NON-DAMAGING, BIO-DEGRADABLE SIGN OF INDIVIDUAL AGREEMENT OF THE SYMBOLISM OF THE LIGHTS BY TYING A PIECE OF RIBBON TO THE POST. (Making sure that routine laws of the highway are observed. The ribbon tying is a choice of each individual and not a directive.).

As the symbolism of the lights becomes accepted, then we shall have an 'aide memoire' not to become complacent and apathetic to these issues, but to seek peace and a safer environment which is what the majority of us wish.
