Welcome
to the New & Unique Peace Protest.
This has been
developed to enable everyone who wishes to the simple opportunity
to protest and leave their mark.
Easy to do, takes little time, no resources wasted, yet gives
a clear indication of the objection felt.
At last the silent majority given the chance to show their voice!
How
is this achieved?
Traffic lights are part of our everyday life in our petrol driven
world.
We see them daily.
Most of us are fairly close to one at any given time or place.
Traffic lights are a symbol that we observe and respond to with
an action and we disregard them at our peril.
If that symbol becomes synonymous with the call to (red light)
STOP WAR and (amber light) CHANGE TO (green light) a GREEN PLANET,
then we can utilise that association
BOTH for protest AND to give a gentle reminder to us each time
we see the lights, to strive for peace and a greener, more just
world.
THE TRAFFIC LIGHT PROTEST IS BORN!
Please
let us know about your protests, leave details on Visible
Voice.

Every
time you place a ribbon on a traffic light you send out
the message shown flashing on the lights.
Ribbons
can be used to specify and focus the message utlising
their colour. (See protest campaigns)
Are you upset
by what the Bush Administration & its political allies
have done in Iraq?
- There have been
two traffic light protests to date.
- Response has been
enthusiastic when known about.
- It is simple and
lasting (unlike a demo).
- The word needs
spreading. More will follow.
- So easy to do
and at anytime ' not just on the protest dates ' so
let a friend know about this simple gesture. A visible
fluttering ribbon for peace and do it!

Human
life is precious, but frail, easily snuffed out by vast military
force as brandished indiscriminately by the Bush Administration.
The Bush Administration and
its political allies don't count civilian lives lost, they regard
them as insignificant, or in their terminology, the sickeningly
inadequate and disrespectful, 'collateral damage'.
If you tie a ribbon you recognise
that every life is precious, something the Bush and Blair Administrations
do not appear to have grasped.
One could say that our P.M.
has failed in his duty to speak for the British people.
The ribbons are the voice we are denied by this Prime minister.
The ribbons defy Mr. Blair and his lies.
The ribbons speak for truth, for peace,
for justice and care.
The ribbons
affirm the message of the lights and offer a 'visible voice' of
hope to the world in defiance of one who many see as our arrogant,
selfish, foolishly proud leader. They expose his shame.
Let the ribbons of peace
send out a loud message to the world, a message of hope.
