Peace
will never come from what one side wants. Peace will only
come form what ALL sides want.
Concessions for unity,
on even the simplest thing, is the only road for peace.
The foundation of trust and unity is the only stable building
block.
The US now seeks internationalisation,
stating that a peaceful resolution is in the interests of
ALL the other nations in the region. Yes, it is. This is a
start, but the US have to mean it. Thinking of others has
got to replace self interest.
This is the building
blocks not only to peace, but to the threat of global warming.
One nation cannot think or act alone. Our future is as a global
community.

“You know, I thought
we wuz goin’ to do alright”.
So spoke one of the lesser brains of the US Presidency, after
his mid-term election debarcle.
Within a day, one of the architects of the disaster that has
been created in Iraq, has gone. Let us all hope that the influence
of the others is waning fast and that some form of reparation
and healing of the world can occur. Having been so wrong in
Iraq, this President is also so wrong on global warming.
Action, mister, is needed now!
Take a leaf out of Arnold’s book and get involved before
its too late.
As countries like China and India rapidly industrialise, it
is essential that the West takes a lead and cuts CO2 emissions
dramatically.
To any reader please
ensure you get involved in ‘Save our planet’ day.
More information will appear in the next few weeks on this
site and hopefully elsewhere.
Be part of it.
Spread the word.
Get involved.
Encourage others and especially concerned groups you are associated
with.
There is hope, without
complacency.

As we stagger towards
the twighlight of 2006 and of Bush ‘n’ Blair’s
despotic ‘reigns’, we look forward to a world
without their ‘leadership’ and wonder how history
will view these two egotistical characters, both desperate
for it to mark them kindly with memorable legacies. Yet, even
now, we can see that they have wasted their terms in office,
focusing, as they have, on war and making the world plunge
ever faster, headlong towards climatic chaos.
Here are two men who
had the opportunity to turn humanity’s seemingly crazed
desire for self destruction into a long lasting enactment
of peaceful coexistence in harmony with the planet. They could
have used humanity’s ingenuity and majority desire for
peace to turn the world into a safer, self-sustaining sanctuary
for future generations. Instead we face an uncertain future…...
The true legacy of Bush ‘n’ Blair is a period
in history that will be known as ‘the wasted years’
and their criminality to humanity’s true needs will
be marked in the eons of time.
Let us hope that our
future leaders have greater vision and loving selfless insight
that these two so clearly lacked and that we can reverse the
trend of destruction meted out by these two selfish men.

Mr. Blair in his visit
to the Middle East has stated that he wishes to finish his
term in office by brokering a peace deal in the region. This
all sounds very laudable, except that he is deluded if he
thinks he has a hope of achieving it. The reason is because
he has shown himself to be so one sided. He has created divisions
and violent conflict wherever he has interfered in the area.
What he and Mr. Bush don’t seem to realise is that the
way to peace is not through violence! Had he and his puppet
master in the White House shown any humility and respect for
the life of all citizens, whatever faith or nationality, then
he might have had a chance. As it is he is only showing his
selfish nature to its full shame, by trying to glorify his
name rather than truly care for others.

So who
won? Hezbollah or Israel? Nobody of course! There are only
losers in war, yet the innocent, (the South Lebanese civilians
in this case) always seem to come off the worst. Their infrastructure,
their coastline are destroyed and polluted, whilst the protagonists
can all return to their safe havens.
If Bush and Blair have
any moral decency they must ensure the Lebanon beaches are
cleaned up and damaged roads, buildings and bridges repaired,
without the RIP-OFF contracts used to pick the bones of Iraq.
The one rule for Israel
and another for the rest of the world, situation has got to
be seriously reviewed. Resentment at the injustice will only
surface again otherwise.

The declared sceptics
of the 10/8 plot do us all a disservice because they make
unreasonable Blair appear reasonable.
This most manipulative
of politicians has no qualms about taking advantage of others
misfortune. Take for example the latest bomb plot for U.S.
bound aircraft and the opportunity to promote the politics
of fear. There was clearly a plot uncovered by our security
services and they arrested all they were aware of.
Prudence required, though,
that they heighten security in case any unknown members had
slipped the net. The resultant publicity, disruption and furore
were then milked to maximum extent to bring a disquietened
public over Middle East handling, back into line. It even
provided the perfect sound bite moment that Bush thrives on,
profligating his and Blair’s ‘War on Terror’,
such nonsense that makes conflict and instability more likely,
not less.
The tell-tale factors
here that suggest there has been political manipulation, is
that Deputy P.M. Prescott, has been kept in the dark over
the affair to avoid potential disaster, with Home Secretary,
Reid presenting the Government’s position. Also if aircraft
were likely to be lost, the P.M. would not continue holidaying
in Barbados, he is too astute for that PR blunder.
The Security Services did their job, but the spinners just
can’t resist an opportunity to spin!

The world
awaits the UN Resolution on South Lebanon. The initial draft
was rightly rejected by Arab nations, because as usual with
U.S. influenced ones, there is a definite bias towards Israel.
It’s a well known fact that this is because of the powerful
lobby in the U.S. that any Administration there has to take
note of to survive. U.N. Resolutions should be even handed,
however.
If the UK Government
had responded to terrorist action in its land of Northern
Ireland in the same way that Israel has responded, then half
of Dublin would have been subject to arial bombardment and
its border farmsteads and villages devastated with consequential
mass loss of life. The world would have been outraged and
the UK declared a rogue state internationally.
Why then should Israel be treated any differently? The initial
Draft Resolution suggested that Hizbollah should ceasefire,
yet Israel should cease offensive action. Well they say that
the best form of defence is attack and the U.S.’s U.N.
Ambassador, John Bolton and Mr. Blair, have made it clear
Israel can act defensively.
So Israel can attack
as long as it doesn’t cause offence! If Israel is defensive
it cannot be offensive and who is Israel going to offend if
it defends. So Israel will not offend if it defends its right
to be defensive and launch an attack that is defensive not
offensive.
Got it?! Some even handedness!!
Let us hope that without
too much meddling from Washington or London that a sensible,
workable, fair and just Resolution results. However going
by previous UN Resolutions it will be almost a first if Israel
complies! What Israel needs to realise is that the more resentment
it creates with its neighbours the harder it becomes to get
a long term peaceful settlement. The greater the force of
destruction it throws at others the weaker its defensive position
becomes. If Israel truly wants to live at peace with its neighbour
states it must learn not to be a bully and show instead a
little compassion and humility. Then we might get the progress
we all hope for.

When we bleed,
we bleed the same. (MUSE, 2006)
For how much longer does
the planet and humanity have to suffer from the purveyors
of death, carnage and destruction known as Bush and Blair
Inc.
To most people with
a modicum of intelligence and just a touch of humanity, it
is clear that violence breeds violence. Resentment and revenge
as consequences to their actions are obvious to any possessing
just a few ounces of grey matter. To the two sawdust heads
that run the US and UK, its all worth it to gain a legacy.
In the process, these two manufacturers of misery are dragging
two nations of caring citizens into the drain of dishonour
and disgust. These two men are so selfish and deluded, that
they fail to recognise the consequences of their actions.
Too blind and deaf to the pictures and cries, nay screams,
of pain and anguish, that their actions cause. Always blaming
others and wallowing in their false self-righteousness.
This criticism is not
done for political scoring, but for genuine care for planet
and humanity, whose best interests are clearly shown by peaceful
opposition to narcissistic men such as these.
As Israel, the U.S.
puppet State, continues to slaughter innocent civilians in
South Lebanon in hugely obscene numbers, only the U.S. and
the U.K. condone it by refusing to call for an unconditional
ceasefire. These two have put on trial a dictator for war
crimes, yet many, even U.N. officials, are calling the continued
support of Israeli action, a war crime in itself. By only
ever seeing matters from their own limited point of view means
that their goal of appearing just is in fact totally destroyed
and the opposite occurs, because of the true injustice of
their actions and words.

Bush still doesn’t get it does he? He believes American
might can crush terrorists. Wrong! Wielding violent power
creates even greater resistance, idiot!
The use of his puppet
state Israel (for let’s not kid ourselves, if the U.S.
said stop they would) to do his work, shows utter contempt
for humanity. If the innocent traumatised civilians of Southern
Lebanon were U.S. citizens this would not be happening.
These people are desperate
to live a normal peaceful life in their country. The Bush
Administration has no respect for them whatsoever, so the
world has to look on in anguish and cling to the hope that
the genuine sorrow of world representatives like Kofi Annan
eventually sounds loud enough in the deaf U.S. ear.
How much more shame is
the present U.S. President going to heap on a nation that
once had respect, but now is drifting towards contempt.

Is it hot enough
for you? We all know we’re doing wrong, yet
we all carry on. We know every light bulb burning bright,
every petro-mile we eat up, every aircraft we board is making
our future that little bit more uncomfortable, but we still
do it. Why? Because comforts of modern life outweigh what
might be. Since the climate is so changeable for most of us,
especially the worst CO2 emitters, we get suckered into thinking;
well it might not happen and likely, not in my lifetime. Our
hot spell will evaporate into the drizzle and chill of the
following season and we’ll believe we’ve got away
with it for another year.
We kid ourselves. We
don’t want to believe the prospect of accelerated warming
and its effects and the organisations that want their profit
will prey upon that seed of doubt.
“Look what we
can provide, look what we can do for you”, they say
and tempt with their ‘treats’.
The environmentalists are portrayed as kill joys and doom
merchants, not the caring rationalists they are. With such
powerful forces producing the CO2 levels that power the greenhouse
effect in the atmosphere we have little hope of influencing
them, unless we find a means to collectively speak as one,
that in fact we would, in the end, like to survive, rather
than aspire to one more little treat.
We are like the greedy
exploding diner in Monty Python’s ‘Meaning of
Life’ film, where one more little wafer provides the
catastrophic end, when he knows he doesn’t really want
to, but that tempting treat is still too irresistible.
Life and the world can
be rewarding and joyous without resorting to selfish destruction.
Since the problem is a global one, the correcting response
has to be a worldwide one. There is no room for exception.
If one nation resists, others will waiver. Our resolve must
be universal and that is the crux of the problem. How to transcend
nationality, social division, religious sectarianism and political
elitism? A unifying desire for survival, using a universal
symbol and message is called for, rapidly before time runs
out.
Traffic lights and their
proposed symbolic ‘message’ can fulfil that universal
requirement. Already in existence, globally distributed, in
fact fortuitously concentrated delivering their ‘message’
where most CO2 is produced and part of the infrastructure
vital to the forces of temptation that cause the problem in
the first place.
Indispensable in the
‘petrol driven world’, their chorus of warning,
warding us away from that last little wafer of temptation
to a saner, sustainable existence.
We have to stop partying, drunk on selfish pleasures and rationally
conserve shared, free joys of existence.
The Traffic lights for
peace campaign transcends all divisions. It unites in one
goal, for survival.
Save your future.
Save our planet.
It is possible if we work as one, like never before. Our one
hope is to act together unselfishly. So let’s start
on Sat. 7th July 2007. ‘Save our planet’ day.

Another day of conflict.
Another day of ice melt.
Another day of despair.
Would you like to change it, to a day of hope?!
‘Save our planet’ day. A simple idea; for love
and hope are simple, and simply great!
‘SAVE OUR
PLANET’ DAY.
One day – when
we put aside our differences.
One day – when we come together, brother and sister.
One day – when revenge, hate and envy are forgotten.
A day - for humanity
to speak as one. A day for SURVIVAL.
That day: the 7th day
of the 7th month of the 7th year of the 21st century.
Easy to remember: 7 + 7 + 7 = 21.
A moment when humanity makes a mark in the sands of time for
its survival.
A moment in history when there is no nation vs nation, no
religious faith vs religious faith, no political party vs
political party and no social class vs social class.
Together as one.
Taking that all important step. That first step towards a
future, where co-operation moulds that future.
Once we have taken that first step, our eyes will be opened
to the possibilities, hidden so long by conflict.
Our (humanity’s)
immediate problem, global warming, is just that, GLOBAL.
It is non-discriminatory. It is global and to correct it requires
a GLOBAL response, by all of us collectively. Individually,
yes, but with a common purpose.
It is possible.
A day to remember because it is a day to forget!
Forget ethnic origin,
Forget religious differences,
Forget political dogma and
Forget social standing.
Unite for survival,
Unite for a future and Unite for a purpose.
On this day we ask all
to halt and look ahead. Take note of the message of the lights
at this, humanity’s and the world’s, crossroads.
Think, act and change direction.
To continue straight ahead on the same road is to act like
lemmings, careering towards the cliff-edge.
Take this moment of reflection and together turn to a brighter
future, as one.
JOIN US in promoting this day. A day when differences melt
rather than the polar ice.
‘Save Our Planet’
day.
Saturday, 7th July, 2007.
If you want a future.
How? Tell 5 friends to tell 5 other friends about ‘Save
Our Planet’ day. That’s all it takes. So simple.
Keep in touch with this site.
We are non-financial. Free for all. Uncontaminated by money.

In
the week when the slaughtered of the multi-cultural London
commuters are remembered from a year ago, there still appears
no semblance of any connection admitted by Blair & Co.
with the abhorrent situation he has instigated in Iraq. Now
even Afghanistan, the claimed success story, is beginning
to fall apart at the seams, brought home by the number of
draped coffins that are flying back to military bases in the
UK.
Blair is now living
in ‘cloud cook coo land’; his assertion that Muslim
grievance around the world is completely false, riles in the
face of rationality. The normal sane citizens of the world
can quite plainly see the connection between violence met
with violence, especially where justice appears to have been
forgotten as a concept altogether. The moral bankruptcy of
the Bush and Blair Administrations, so clear in most eyes,
with repeated reports of atrocities against a civilian population
by occupying ‘policing’ forces, is inevitably
going to lead to an unequivocal ‘sense of grievance’.
These incidents and the fact that the US now has bases established
in Muslim countries: Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan,
Jordan, Algeria, Qatar, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Yemen,
concentrate that ‘sense of grievance’. A civilised,
benign ‘policing’ force would have ensured civilian
utilities were first priority, rather than securing the oil
production at all costs. If the US and UK had really cared
for the people of Iraq, instead of raping and pillaging its
natural resources, those grievances would not have surfaced.
Our continued presence in Iraq will continue to exacerbate
the religious tension. Its time to get serious about leaving
, eating a bit of humble pie and begging some non-violent
Muslim help, to calm the region. A policy of conversion from
poppy cultivation to crop production with massive subsidy
to all levels of society in Afghanistan is the only way forward
there. The initial cost may seem high, but in relative terms,
compared to the costs of high levels of military presence
and the effects in the West of opium products, that cost would
in fact be a saving.
Get real Mr. Blair.

Is this the beginning
of the end for Guantanamo? Let’s hope so, but listening
to a determined Bush supporter last night on British TV he
suggested it might only be a setback. He pointed out that
Bush’s recent appointee was not party to the historic
ruling of the Supreme Court and that the Bush Administration
is looking forward to rescinding such curbs on its agenda.
The Military Court style tribunals affect
only 10 detainees, the others that are incarcerated with little
hope or recall to justice will have to depend upon the ever
increasing clamour of world opinion to get Bush to rethink
on his ploy of fear. By playing on that fear of more terrorism
in the States and the playing up of hidden threat means he
can keep electoral control whilst America’s standing
and respect in the world crumbles to dust.
It is so sad that Bush has managed to destroy
what the American people have fought for since their founding
over such a short period in office. At least the American
people have the comfort that Bush can only stay ‘till
the end of this term, whereas the poor UK public have the
haunting prospect of Blair, who has destroyed its rights and
freedoms, continuing on and on and on. Help!

Upon hearing the announcement
of al-Zarqawi’s death, one could be somewhat anxiously
reminded of the film quote many of us recognise, “Vader,
if you strike me down I will become more powerful than you
can ever imagine.” Bush and Blair’s restrained
triumphalism saying it “is a severe blow to al-Qa’ida
and a victory for the war on terror” is for ‘home’
audiences. As Robert Fisk (The World renowned international
writer and journalist) so rightly points out this Jordanian
petty criminal turned sectarian and international mass murderer
has been demonised by Bush and Co. to the point where al-Qa’ida’s
response was to immediately reveal their “joyous news
of the martyrdom”. When we hear Bush wrap his tongue
around the word al Qa’ida we can sense the glee that
he can pull out a few more votes for ‘the folks back
home’. When we have two world leaders so ignorant of
the ways of thinking of those ideologically opposed to them,
it bodes ill for true reconciliation.
Bush and Blair supporters
often suggest strong stubborn leaders are what is needed for
clear direction, whereas surely ones more humble and willing
to admit and learn by mistakes for the benefit of ALL is what
most of us truly wish of a great leader. There were no terrorists
operational in Iraq before it was invaded. Iraq can be likened
at this stage to a clean tablecloth. Bush and Blair have caused
the ketchup to be splashed all over it. Just because they
have cleaned up one large blob so far, they are far from making
it clean again. Their scrubbing brush and a bar of soap technique
is doomed, only by metaphorical recourse to the laundry, i.e.
true International and Muslim countries’ help, can the
mess they have created be cleaned up.

Our Earth is a fragile
bio-system that has a life supporting envelope of atmosphere
around it. That envelope is very thin in comparison to the
planet’s diameter.
To bring an analogy,
we are disgusted if a child wees as it swims in a swimming
pool, then why are we not treating countries that foul our
atmosphere under the Kyoto accord in a similar vein?
Our present levels of
consumerism in the world are unsustainable.
Our thirst for oil and energy consumption is so lacking in
forward planning as to be negligent. We are ‘blinded’
by the comforts of modern life, yet we know deep down that
our lives and lifestyles must change.
While we party in the
dawn of the 21st Century we know that the ‘barrel’
will soon run dry – a sobering thought for those of
us who are inebriated on those comforts. We are finally getting
to realise just how much waste humanity produces and the greatest
waste of all is WAR!
Environmental issues
are now being found more readily in the media as it responds
to populist concern, but we need to change ‘Read all
about it!’ to actually ‘Do something about it!’.
Its time to put an end
to war and to redirect the money powering the war machine.
It is time to change from concern for others as a charitable
past-time to concern for others as a necessary survival strategy.
A sustainable and just
world, at peace, beckons if we can just be bothered to make
the effort!
