What a contrast! This
last week we saw one man, loved by virtually all that
espy and hear him and two bosom buddy attention seekers
who are despised by most of the world.
The two buddies eager
to be approved of, desperate for a legacy to be remembered
by, whilst the contrasting one seeks no greatness, just
contented concern for life.
One man will go
down in history as a hero of our age as the other two
are consigned as villains of humanity.
That one man, David
Attenbrough, has lent his great presence to the side of
those seeking a response to global warming and has after
great deliberation and patience, concluded that ‘man’
is the cause of our present dilemma. He speaks out for
action.
The other two, Bush
& Blair, blow hot air and avoid constructive effort,
rather seeking to destroy the planet as they pose and
arrogantly preen themselves on camera.
Both men cling to
power in ever increasing desperation as they sink into
the mire of becoming two of the most loathed men in history.
Let us hope and
pray that they are replaced by men or women who truly
care for others and this planet as much as themselves.
In the meantime, let us celebrate humanity of the ilk
of David Attenbrough and join forces to tackle ‘man’
induced climate change in a selfless manner.

It
appears to be all quiet on the climate front. Where is
the urgency? Only here on these pages it seems! The attitude
from politicians worldwide is one of procrastination.
‘It seems too big an issue to tackle so we’ll
just leave it to someone else to start the ball rolling
on effective action,’ is their collective response.
Wake up world!!
Its time to do something, NOW!
The population of
the world is primed. There is concern everywhere. The
ball is poised, ready to roll; we just need to give it
that push off. The seventh day of the seventh month of
the seventh year of the 21st century is an easily remembered
date. Let’s use it to finally give our planet hope.
Contact as many environmentally concerned groups as possible
and push for recognition of ‘Save our Planet’
Day, 7-7-2007. A dedicated day that highlights the need
to act is a concept that’s so simple. Our politicians
show contemptible indifference, if we wait for them, our
planet is likely doomed. Its time for the people to lead!

Did
Bush order Straw’s removal? Possibly unlikely, but
not inconceivable! The word Jack Straw used to describe
an attack on the nuclear facilities in Iran.
When questioned
yesterday in Washington, the new British Foreign Secretary,
Margaret Beckett was unwilling to leave out ANY option
with regard to Iran. Blair’s kowtowing to Bush has
hit new poodlesome heights! The disturbing fact for all
of us though is that there appear to be two presidents,
one US, one Iranian, who appear to have little concern
for humanity and have a single minded drive for ideological
and religious conflict. Whilst Blair remains in office
and under the control of the Bush, Rumsfelt & Chenney
triumvirate, we all need to hold our breath and pray they
don’t attack, with another (justified in their unhinged
minds) pre-emptive strike. You can already see the propaganda
machine winding up the hysteria of a ‘nuclear Iran’.
The reality IS that Iran is no threat to anyone at present.
Future capability of Iran is merely hypothetical, but
that hypothetical ability was used as the excuse to attack
Iraq.
The world beyond
the influence of the White House needs to respond to the
TRUE picture, not one painted by those of an agenda far
removed from the one most of us seek, that of peace and
harmony.

The British Government
is in disarray as Blair clings to power. His Home Secretary
is unable to protect the public, (his main job criteria),
his Health Secretary overseeing revolt amongst staff and
vast expenditure gaining little output and the Deputy
Prime Minister is embroiled in scandal with a subordinate
employee.
It is clear therefore
that Blair is only interested in himself; only in reaching
and passing Thatcher’s term of office. His ‘legacy’
has been destroyed on all fronts, especially by his betrayal
on the environment and of our Armed Forces and the electorate
over Iraq. He wants to be remembered, to have his place
in history.
Have we ever had a leader so selfish? An honest man would
go.
In the US, Bush is
becoming more of a lame duck as his term fizzles out.
The concern though is that he might try and go out in
a ‘blaze of glory’. Iran’s foolishly
evocative President is an untimely bait for this gung-ho
US President. Expect Iran to be bombed before his term
is over, for the propaganda machine is already working
on overtime. The claim that diplomacy has run out of steam
and ‘they only listen to the bomb and the bullet’
mentality means the Bush Administration hasn’t learnt
from Iraq and being so tunnel visioned, they probably
never will. It’s up to us peacemakers and carers
of humanity and planet to dissuade the madmen of the White
House from such action.

As UK opposition leader
David Cameron takes a return flight from Norway after
seeing the glaciers melting, we wonder if this is genuine
concern for the planet or yet another publicity stunt
by the Tory leader, since he knows that voter unease over
global warming is increasing.
The current impasse
in providing effective action is because political electability
is inversely proportional to environmental responsibility.
The majority of us are selfish in nature and only too
happy to accept the advantages and comforts of modern
day lifestyles. Until a major calamity occurs that has
a direct effect on our daily lives e.g. the Gulf Stream
Ocean Current stopping, we show no desire to take effective
action.
That effective action
on global warming seems as far away as ever.
If Mr. Cameron was
truly concerned about it he would have taken the ferry
over to the melting ice. By flying to the glaciers to
look at them, it is the equivalent of a local politician
allegedly concerned over dog mess, taking a press entourage
with him, preaching dog owner responsibility and watching
whilst his own dog fouls the footpath!
We don’t need
yet another senior politician who, like Blair, feigns
environmental responsibility.

As Berlusconi desperately
clings to power in Italy, lame ducks Bush and Blair eat
out the last days of their reign together and the world
suffers. When many hundreds of billions could have been
spent on eradicating disease and poverty, on tackling
global warming and restoration of the environment, these
power-crazed narcissists chose to wreak death and destruction
upon the planet and its citizens. When the world tragic
rule of the 3 ‘B’s’ comes to a close,
let us hope that there is a new enlightenment to heal
the world from their actions, for they will be remembered
in posterity as world wreckers, examples of humanity to
be ashamed of.
